Atletico Madrid lost 6-1 against Barcelona and 2-1 against Real Madrid.

It gives the impression that Atletico Madrid is much better in the Champions League than in the Liga BBVA. What is your opinion ?

Which ranking do you predict at the end of 2008/2009 ?
Barcelona ante Real Madrid ante Atletico Madrid ?

It's difficult to anticipate where Atletico Madrid will be at the end of this season.
I guess they could reach rank 4 or 5. (they're currently on the 7th position)

The actual positions are
1. Barcelona
...
5. Real Madrid
6. Athletico Madrid
but all three clubs (+ Villarreal) are qualified for the Champions League.

It is very interesting to see further results (I have no possibility to watch the Spanish matches on TV).

Real has fired their german coach Bernd Schuster some days ago.
I can understand that they aren't happy with rank 5, but it's to typical for clubs like Real to see the disissal as the only possible solution.

Yeh they have had somthing like 11 coaches in 8 years or somthing.

Just take Capello two seasons at Real Madrid, 2 titles, 2 sackings. Enough said

looking forward to El Classico tonight if Real lose they might as well give up on title.

I don't understand why they have not a bit more patience.
Of course rank 5 is no champions league anymore, but as long as they keep touch with the cl ranks they shouldn't fire a coach.

I agree to the fact that very often there is no patience to build a strong team. It is astonishing how quickly many clubs chase away the coach.
